Annu Dahiya, PhD is a philosopher who researches, writes, and teaches feminist, anti-racist, and anti-colonial theories—modes of inquiry that she firmly believes can reimagine any and everything. She studies how systems of oppression—which deploy a colonial, sexist, and anti-black logic—have shaped what we know, how we understand our world, and our relationship with one another.
Annu has extensive teaching experience, both within and outside the academy. Since 2020, she has taught philosophy to hundreds of adult learners from all over the world. She is fiercely committed to teaching radical philosophy outside the Ivory Tower because we all need to dream and imagine social change.
She is currently a Doctoral Lecturer of Philosophy at York College, City University of New York. She has also previously taught at Duke University, The Hotchkiss School, and the Telluride Association.
Since 2020, she has been a faculty member of Durham Arts and Humanities Night School Bar (where she also served as the Associate Director from 2020-2023).
Annu has a PhD in Literature from Duke University. She completed her B.A. at Rutgers University, where she double-majored in Women’s and Gender Studies, and double-minored in Race and Ethnic Studies and Biology.
